Minor Mosquito T1 Eagles are on their way to OBA's!

This past week the T1 Minor Mosquito Eagles team qualified for the OBA “AAA” Championship in dramatic fashion.

The team opened up the OBA qualifiers against Brampton, and had to overcome a 5 run deficit to come away with a walk-off 8-7 win. Their next game was a tough loss against a strong Oakville side, but the Eagles came back the next night, facing elimination, to beat Milton 10-6. This set up a must-win game against the MSBA Twins—the 2016 & 2017 AAA Champions, and a team the Eagles had never beaten. The Eagles came out strong, with great pitching and clutch hitting, and jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Miss fought back to 6-3, and the Eagles faced a bases loaded, no outs situation in the 5th, but they shut it down without surrendering a run, and went on to secure the 6-3 victory!

This set up a 3-way tie, with each team having one loss, meaning one team would be selected for the first OBA spot, and the other 2 teams would play again for the final spot. In a dramatic post-game moment, on speaker phone in the parking lot, surrounded by players, coaches, and family of both teams, the Eagles were selected to receive the bye, and are headed to the OBA championships!

Thanks to all the family, friends, and Eagles players who came out to support the team during the week…Go Eagles!
