Major Bantam COBA Select are off to SOBA Provincials and win the birth in dramatic fashion

This past weekend The Eagles Bantam Major COBA Select team beat the top seeded Brampton Majors, not once, but twice, to advance to the Ontario Baseball Association provincial playoffs. The 5th seeded Bantam Major COBA Select team went undefeated in all 5 games during their playoff qualifiers that began on Wednesday, August 15.

During the first win against Brampton, right-handed pitcher, Joey Pereira, gave the ultimate sacrifice, suffering a broken left arm after being hit by a pitch. After 2 more wins, the team faced Brampton again in the final game and came out on top after a spectacular game that included fabulous pitching, several double plays, some spectacular catches in the outflield and some wonderful hits by all members of the team.

The second win against the top seeded team left no doubt about which team should advance. The team moves on to play in the SOBA provincial playdowns in Milton, during the Labour Day long weekend.

The Eagles Bantam Major COBA Select team would like to extend a special THANK YOU to their sponsor, Tru-View Plumbing and Drain Service of Georgetown!
